The hassle of packing your belongings before a trip is often confusing, either because the bag is too small to insist on buying a new one every time you travel, or the things you carry feel too heavy to feel like carrying a wasted load.

If the above problem sounds familiar, maybe you need to listen to the following packing tips, so that the next trip is no longer bothered by unnecessary items.

1.💨 Make a List of Carry-Ons

This is the first thing you can do before packing your luggage: create a checklist. Writing down what to take with you helps you really think about what things are needed during the trip, and what things can actually be left at home. Before writing down each item on the checklist, make sure that the item has a purpose.

Making a checklist can also minimize the occurrence of essential items left behind. Give time to check that the most important items are on the checklist.

2. 💨Roll up, don't fold

Packing clothes to be carried by rolling instead of folding can actually save a lot of space.

Apart from being able to load more clothes, the remaining space can also be used to store other items. The rolling method also makes your clothes easier to "arrange" in the carry-on bag.

3. 💨Vacuum Bags

Vacuum bags can be found at most department stores or retail stores that sell traveling equipment.

The way it works is by putting the clothes that are going to be brought intoa plastic bag, where then the air in the bag will be sucked out using a vacuum so that the clothes can "deflate" instantly.

There is also a vacuum bag model that does not require an air vacuum, simply by pressing the plastic bag containing the clothes until it is deflated. The shape is plastic and thin, so it doesn't burden you to carry it anywhere.

4. 💨Take advantage of every angle

When packing luggage into bags, “dead spots” often form between or between items. Fill and take advantage of the empty space "bear" as best as possible with other luggage.

For example, by tucking in a book you read, or putting bottles containing toiletries, or whatever is needed so that no space is wasted before filling other empty spaces.

5. 💨Put the essentials at the top

This applies if you use a backpack or carrier, because the goods that are placed must be stacked to maximize the available space. So, it will be easier if you stack your luggage according to your daily needs in order, which one will be used first and which will be used later.

Essential things such as a make-up bag, worship equipment, or anything that will be used frequently as long as it goes well at the top of the pile so that it is easy to reach without messing up the order of things.

6. 💨Bring Multifunctional Clothes

To save on luggage, bring clothes that can be mixed and matched or that have multiple functions and can be used on various occasions. For example, a dress that can be used both as beach wear and as an outfit to a party at once.

Or, use a wide Balinese scarf / sarong to use as an “impromptu skirt” on the beach, as an “impromptu blanket”, or as anti-heat headscarves.

7. 💨Travel Size.

Do not bring soap, shampoo, body lotion or other toiletries and body care in the original bottle. Apart from being usually the bottles are quite large and take up space,

Use travel-sized bottles that can be filled with a wide variety of products needed to make  more efficiently. Or, if carrying items such as toiletries is too much of a hassle, you can also choose to buy the sachet version at your local convenience store.
