💉12 Corona Vaccines Enter Phase 3 Trials, 6 There is limited💉
Hello everyone welcome to my blog
how are you all, I hope we are always blessed with health and happiness. so on my blog this time I will share info and descriptions articles about the corona virus . for a full explanation please see below
Scientists from various countries are competing to find a vaccine to deal with the corona virus. Even so, until now no one has been approved as a corona vaccine. The researchers are testing 48 vaccines in clinical trials in humans and at least 88 preclinical vaccines are under active investigation in animals. Vaccine-related trials began in January 2020 by breaking down the SARS-CoV-2 genome. The first vaccine trials in humans began in March. There are several stages of vaccine manufacture, namely stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, initial or limited approval, and approval. As of Monday (26/10/2020), there have been 6 vaccines that have entered the initial or limited approval stage.
🏥Vaccine update
The New York Times updated its record on vaccines on Monday (26/10/2020) by adding Bharat Biotech to stage 3. In collaboration with the Indian Medical Research Council and the National Virology Institute, Indian company Bharat Biotech designed a vaccine called Covaxin based on a form of the coronavirus that is not active. Studies in monkeys and hamsters have found that the vaccine provides protection against infection. The company then launched a clinical trial in July. The CEO of Bharat told reporters that the vaccine would be available as early as 2021. On October 23, the company announced that it would begin phase 3 trials.
⛱ The following is a list of vaccines that have entered stage 3:
- Moderna
- Pfizer and BioNTech
- CanSino Biologics
- Gamaleya Research Institute
- Johnson & Johnson
- AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford
- Novavax
- Wuhan Institute of Biological Products
- Sinopharm
- Sinovac Biotech
- Murdoch Children's Research Institute
- Bharat Biotech
1. CanSino Biologics
Chinese company CanSino Biologics is developing a vaccine based on an adenovirus called Ad5, in collaboration with the Institute of Biology at the country's Academy of Military Medical Sciences. In an unprecedented move, China's military approved the vaccine on June 25 for a year as a "specially needed drug." CanSino did not say whether vaccination would be mandatory or optional for soldiers. Starting in August, CanSino began running Phase 3 trials in a number of countries, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Russia.
2. Gamaleya Research Institute
The Gamaleya Research Institute is part of the Russian Ministry of Health. They use a combination of two adenoviruses to make a corona vaccine, namely Ad5 and Ad26. Both were engineered with the coronavirus gene. On August 11, President Vladimir V. Putin announced that Russian health care regulators had approved the vaccine even before the Phase 3 trials began. With that, the name of the vaccine, which was previously Gam-Covid-Vac, changed to Sputnik V. Also read: Profile of AstraZeneca, Provider of 100 Million Corona Vaccines for Indonesia
3. Vector Institute
The Vector Institute is a Russian biological research center. On August 26, they registered a Phase 1/2 (combined 1 and 2) trial for a coronavirus vaccine they called EpiVacCorona. Vaccines contain a small portion of viral proteins, known as peptides. On October 14, Vladimir Putin announced that Russia had given regulatory approval to EpiVacCorona. This makes it the second vaccine approved by Russia after Sputnik V. Like Sputnik V, EpiVacCorona was also approved before starting the Phase 3 trials. The hope is that the Phase 3 trials will be carried out later this year.
4. Wuhan Institute of Biological Products
The Wuhan Institute of Biological Products developed an inactivated viral vaccine, namely Sinopharm. The vaccine was tested in phase 3 in the United Arab Emirates in July. Then the following month trials were carried out in Peru and Morocco. On September 14, the UAE gave emergency approval for the Sinopharm vaccine for use in health care workers. 5. Sinopharm
Sinopharm is also testing a second inactivated viral vaccine, this one developed by the Beijing Institute of Biological Products. On September 14, the UAE gave emergency approval for the Sinopharm vaccine for use on healthcare workers before Sinopharm shared data showing it was safe and effective. In October, the Sinopharm chairman said the company was getting ready to produce two of their vaccines, with plans to produce one billion doses a year.
6. Sinovac Biotech
Chinese private company Sinovac Biotech is testing an inactive vaccine called CoronaVac. The Chinese government gave the Sinovac vaccine emergency approval for limited use in July. In October, authorities in the eastern city of Jiaxing announced that they were giving CoronVac to people who have high-risk jobs, including medical workers, port inspectors and public service workers. Meanwhile, Sinovac has been preparing to manufacture the vaccine for global distribution, reaching an agreement to supply Indonesia with at least 40 million doses by March 2021.
🚑Conclusion
In my opinion, vaccination against this 'large part of the human population' will have a significant impact on reducing the current COVID-19 infections.
as explained by experts. With a limited number of vaccine doses and the application of health protocols, Dr Fauci predicts the end of the pandemic so that people can live normal lives again in the third to fourth quarter of next year.
"I estimate that a combination of safe and effective vaccines and the implementation of strict health protocols by the third or fourth quarter of next year, we can go to normality,".
