🦄History of the Statue of Liberty
This statue has a meaning that the American people have a democracy and freedom. Freedom of expression, right as freedom to choose, right to freedom of action and right to freedom Therefore, in a statue, having a freedom is very important for the citizens of the United States, because this statue is very historic for them.
This statue is an idea of a friend of George Washington, the first president of the United States. George Washington's best friend is Edouard Rene de Laboulaye Lefebvre. Laboulaye is a lawyer and thinker from France.
The position of the United States of America is closely tied to the role of France. During the revolution, France surrendered weapons to the colonies in the United States. These weapons were used to break free from the British occupation which was invading America at that time.
In 1865, several American authorities gathered with French intellectuals who spoke out against Napoleon III's regime. French intellectuals say they admire the creation of the American state.
And America succeeded in becoming a democratic country and freeing slavery at the end of the civil war.One of the guests at the dinner was Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi. Bartholdi is a famous 31 year old sculptor. He comes from Colmar, Alcase, one of the eastern provinces of France. Bartholdi was attracted to Laboulaye's ideas and inspired him. Initially, this statue resembled a female model from a village wearing a head scarf and robe.
Barry Morena's quote from the Smithsonian Institution indicates that the statue was made by a resident of Fellah, which means a rural population of Arab blood.
At that time, most of the Egyptian population was Muslim. However, the Egyptian government rejected Bartholdi's proposal to gain a foothold in the Suez Canal. Because Egypt had not experienced fame at that time, the symbol of the statue was considered incompatible with reality.
🦄Erection of the Statue of Liberty
In 1883, Laboulaye came up with the idea to erect the Statue of Liberty, which died of a heart attack. A year later, in 1884, the Statue of Liberty was finally finished in construction. The Statue of Liberty from the spring of 1885 is still preserved in France. By then the demolition had been carried out.

Bartholdi had departed for French territory with Viscount Ferdinand de Lesseps-Marie, chairman of the Franco-American Union. The arrival of Bartholdi's entourage was welcomed by the American Committee and Joseph Pulitzer. After arriving on the island of Bedloe, where the Statue of Liberty is erected. Bartholdi only said that his aspirations had been realized.

The Statue of Liberty is made of 3.16 inch thick copper sheet. The appearance of the statue is believed to represent the Roman goddess of freedom. His right hand holds a torch, and his left hand holds a book that says the American Declaration of Independence. The color of the statue was rusty brown, but after 30 years the oxidation process has turned green as it is now.
